I've been featured on Rare Bird Finds!

My "I love you more than pancakes" card featuring my late dog Buster was picked by Amanda of Rare Bird Finds and featured on her blog! Thanks Amanda, this picture of Buster pining for the pancake is one of my favorite photos. I like to think that Buster is in doggie heaven eating as many pancakes as he can !
Be sure to check out Rare Bird Finds blog, it's filled with so many cool things to buy, and her Etsy shop, Little Pies for homemade organic dog treats!

The Girls get Pampered

My friend Jenny and I decided that our white dogs were looking a little dingy so we made plans to take them on a "spa" day to the local doggie shop. Pet Treasures in San Clemente has a U-Wash area for your dogs. Giant tubs that would fit any size dog, nice warm water, shampoo, conditioner, brushes, towels, blowdryer, ear cleaner, doggie colonge and treats...plus they do all the clean up!

A couple of dirty dogs in need of a bath, first...a stop at Starbucks!
Did you say "bath"???

Clean again!

Best friends!

The opening act was Cindy Alexander. I loved her voice and her songs so I bought a CD that night. My Mom had recently passed away and Cindy's music became like therapy for me. Her songs made me cry, they made me laugh and I became an instant fan. In fact when I am working on my art you'll find that Cindy's songs are my music of choice. She's inspirational! If you'd like to hear her music go to www.cindyalexander.com, one of my favorite songs is Idiot Child.

Sand Sculpting...an art!

Art takes many forms. At the San Clemente Ocean Festival, sand is the medium used to create these incredible sand sculptures. Many hours go into the making of each one, and the results are just amazing.

I love big dogs so I really fell in love with this pooch. The expression on her face makes her seem very lifelike. I wonder if the sand sculptors modeled her after their own dog?

This giant sea turtle looks like she just came out of the ocean, they even added coloring to make her "green"! You can't see it in the photo but they had a cute little starfish that was squirting water! They also added great texture on her legs. "Going Green" was the theme of their sculpture.

Can't make it to China for the Summer Olympics? Here's a mini version of the Great Wall of China, not quite like the real thing but very impressive. They even finished it off with the Olympic symbol!

I think the saddest part is at the end of the day...these beautiful pieces of art are washed away with the high tide. Well, I'll be sure to come back next summer to see what the sand artists come up with!

I didn't do it

But he still acts like he's starving when he's drooling over our dinner. A few memorable items he's stolen have been a pound of raw bacon (he never even threw up!), three whole corn cobs from the trash can (he threw up for a week), and last night it was the entire package of burrito sized tortillas. I was in the other room and I could hear this strange noise in the kitchen, and when I looked, Buster was literally inhaling as many as he could. I think he managed to eat at least half a dozen or so. I couldn't get mad at him, he's too darn cute. So instead I grabbed my camera and took a mug shot!
